What to expect:
Carrie Collins, Certified Intern of the Meridian Flexibility
System™, offers private stretching sessions at the Stretch Chi
Studio located at 4765 N. Lincoln Ave., Suite 207, Chicago, IL.
During a private session, Carrie will
assess
your current strength and flexibility and work with you to construct a
training program specific to your needs. She will guide you
through assisted stretches and show you self stretches to incorporate
into your daily routine. The session ends with Meridian
Flexibility Massage, in which she uses her feet to create relaxation
and deep massage along the meridian lines to allow for the flow of chi,
loosen up tight muscles, remove scar tissue and release toxins.
How much work is involved?:
Assisted stretching is most likely the easiest, but more complete
workout you will ever do. Everyone from professional athletes to people
with severe illnesses can do this workout. Most stretches are
done laying down while Carrie pushes and pulls your body into the
various stretches. After the session, you will feel relaxed
with
an overall sense of well being.
Will it hurt?
No, it feels great! Because we are continually contracting
the
muscle as it is being stretched, you cannot over stretch the muscle.
The pain in traditional stretching occurs when the muscles
are
stretched past the point being able to engage that muscle.
You
can expect to be slightly sore for 2-3 days after being stretched for
the first time. This soreness goes away entirely after a few
sessions.
Can't I just do the Self Stretches?
Yes! We encourage you to do the self stretches on a regular
basis. During an assisted stretching session, Carrie is able
to
provide more resistance and push you into deeper stretches than you
would be able to do on your own. She will work on problematic
areas and use specific techniques to improve balance throughout your
body. She can also help create variations for self stretches
if
the ones in The Genius of Flexibility are either too hard or
too
easy. To get the most out of The Meridian Flexibility System,
you
should make it a point to schedule a private session with Carrie.

$150 for a 1.5 hour session
Packages:
One time Introductory Package for $400 - includes two 90
minute
assisted stretching sessions and one 90 minute private self-stretching
session. This package is for first time clients
only.
Five 1.5 hour sessions for $650
Ten 1.5 hour sessions for $1200
